I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the 2008 season at Melville Junior Football Club. Registration numbers have again been strong this year which is due in no small part to the tireless work of the Committee and coaching staff. We have excellent numbers in Auskick and the Club is represented in every age group except Under 17's. We have an excellent coaching staff this season, all ready to impart their knowledge and experience of the game to their players with the able assistance of Brenton Cunningham, the Coaching Co-Ordinator.

Planning is well underway for an upgrade of the lighting at the ground in the second half of the season, together with the construction of an all weather pergola in front of the existing clubrooms. In addition, a new scoreboard has been erected and should be finished in the very near future. Upgrades will not stop there and keep checking this site to find out the latest innovations.

No Club would function without the valuable assistance of sponsors. Accordingly, I would ask that you patronise the sponsors whose details appear on this site. In addition, if you as a parent are able to offer the Club any financial assistance, it will always be greatly appreciated and the recognition for your efforts will be made.

Thanks to Jenny Cutts, we now have a fine array of Club merchandise which will make us the envy of other clubs. Please see Jenny for all your needs in this area.

Please also keep an eye on the site for upcoming social events, a very important part of Club fundraising activities.

Importantly, we are keen to compile a detailed history of the Club, which is one of the oldest in the competition. If anyone is prepared to assist in this area it will be greatly appreciated as would any material such as photographs, memorabilia or records that would assist with this endeavour.

Finally, I wish everyone a great season with the emphasis on building camaraderie and teamwork on and off the field with the ultimate intention of having fun.
